Over the centuries, from one generation to the next, paperfolding has developed from a pastime to a truly creative art. Folding techniques and the teaching of folding were considered as inseparable elements. The 7th International Convention for Didactics of Paperfolding for Educators at Freiburg im Breisgau, (from 16th to 18th November 2012). Special guest countries: .... .
However, paperfolding is not only a form of entertainment in your leisure time or a creative art for talented people but also a means of educating people to a professional standard. This should encourage teachers to develop their own ideas on how to integrate folding into education.
The International Convention for Didactics of Paperfolding for Educators has run every year since 2006, organised by a voluntary team of teachers at Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany). The idea of this non-profit event is to develop and record the best modern methods of teaching origami.
The exchange of experiences between teachers of the subject enriches all our knowledge and can help the teacher to find solutions and to realize his own ideas in his daily work.
There is no formal society organising the annual convention, it is mainly financed by the attendees themselves, supported by donations from sympathetic organisations, societies and businesses.
